AWARDS
We’re Looking For The Top Employee
Benefits Consultant
The Risk & Insurance® and Human Resource Executive® Top Employee Benefits
Consultant Award identifies outstanding benefits brokers and consultants: those
individuals who have done extraordinary work for their clients during the past year.
The consultant’s role is no longer solely defined by the parameters of a contract
and can’t be measured by a single transaction. An organization’s responses to
healthcare cost containment and the fluctuating values of defined contribution
assets are just a couple of areas to which benefits consultants and brokers
contribute expertise and perspective. Consultants from firms of all sizes are
encouraged to apply. We will profile what each Top Employee Benefits Consultant
has accomplished during the past year in the June issue of Risk & Insurance®.
What criteria are used to select winners?
We look at a mix of client service, creativity and innovation in problem-solving, cost-savings and quality improvements,
along with insurance and benefits expertise. That mix is roughly broken down along the following lines with an
emphasis on recent accomplishments; solutions arrived at for customers within the past year.
l Benefit Management Solution: What specific challenge did a client face and how did the applicant/nominee solve
that problem?
l Customer Service: Does the applicant/nominee demonstrate a commitment to primarily serve the interests of their
clients?
l Industry Knowledge: Is the applicant/nominee committed to mastering the industry category they work in?
